The CatCam is a small digital camera that is worn on the collar of an animal to get deep insights of his life. It takes automatically pictures or video clips in an adjustable time sequence/interval. This makes it also suitable for general surveillance tasks or time laps photography. If the automatic function is disabled the camera works as a regular mini digital camera. The CatCam has a quiet long history and started with a fun project 5 years ago. You can check the media response here. The camera has been hand built until we decided to start series production with this new version.
The completely new camera offers a 3 Megapixel image sensor and a display for easier configuration. It contains a rechargeable battery that will take up to 2000 images. A product designer helped us to shape the cameras enclosure to a very appealing design. The CatCam v3 not only takes images, it will also record short video clips. It will not replace the Video CatCam v2 which is designed to take video clips over a very long time range in high resolution.
Originally it was planned to have the camera ready for our customers by end of April. Unfortunately production was delayed, this means all orders that have been put on hold for this new camera version are late. We apologize for this circumstance. If you have ordered and do not to wait any longer, please let us know and we will refund your money. Below we will show the most current status so that our customers are updated:
We come finally to a point now. The cameras passed independent production inspection to check if specifications are met and payment can get initiated. Below some pictures of the inspection process.
